Employee Social Media

Social Media Personnel Guidelines

Purpose

Social media has become an important method of communicating to friends, business customers, partners and the community.

The term “social media” is broad, but for purposes of this policy it includes social networking platforms (e.g., Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn), blogs, and content-sharing sites (e.g., Youtube), that promote conversations over the internet.

If you choose to participate in social media in talking about our business, please abide by the following “Do’s” and “Don’ts” (as well as the other guidelines in this manual and the Code of Conduct).

Do this...

  • Identify yourself. Disclose who you are and your affiliation with Enterprise Holdings when you are engaging in conversations relating to our business.

  • Share good news. Share company news, including marketing/loyalty promotions, new locations openings, job openings, charitable donations and the like.

  • Build relationships. Leverage social media channels, such as LinkedIn, to connect and build one- to-one relationships with business customers, colleagues and partners.Be responsible. Be respectful. Always treat colleagues, customers, partners and competitors with respect.

  • Add value. Make sure your posts add value to any business-related conversation by promoting Enterprise Holdings’ fundamental values and helping improve or sell our products and services. However, please contact Corporate Communications before starting your own business–focused social media presence (e.g., Facebook page.)

But don’t do this...

  • Don’t share proprietary data, trade secrets, internal reports or other confidential information (including customer details, screenshots of reservations, logos, ARMS®, business performance, etc.).

  • Don’t ever spread false information, rumors or misleading claims about Enterprise, our products, services, partners or competitors.

  • Don’t respond to online customer comments or complaints about our company, brands or industry — we have a dedicated team of customer service specialists who will monitor and address such issues.

  • Don’t use another person’s or company’s property — such as images, logos or trademarks — unless you have specific permission.

  • Remember that the Internet does not have a “delete” key. Anything posted online is extremely difficult to remove, so please think carefully before adding comments or suggestions related to Enterprise Holdings.

If you do make a mistake, though, correct it immediately. If you make a big mistake, call your supervisor right away. And if a member of the media contacts you, please refer them to Corporate Communications at:

Employee Profiles on LinkedIn

We encourage all employees to keep their LinkedIn profiles updated. An up-to-date LinkedIn profile can be an impactful tool for personal branding, career development, and staying engaged with potential customer networks and professional networks alike. To accurately reflect our corporate brand, Enterprise Mobility, as your employer we have put together a quick guide on the best ways to accurately represent your role and contribution to the organization.

When creating a new LinkedIn Profile or editing an existing one – there are a couple key areas where you can highlight your role/job title as well as your employer.

These are:

  • Your personal headline
  • Company name
  • Title

Your Personal Headline

Personal headlines are your opportunity to explain what it is you do and to show your passion and value. If you use LinkedIn to build business connections and generate leads you may want to use the space as an opportunity to communicate your role and area of expertise.

Listing Your Role in the Experience Section of LinkedIn

When listing your role in the Experience section of LinkedIn you can utilize the title section to showcase the business area you specifically support. The company name should always be Enterprise Mobility.
